Canada’s Wedding Expo is taking place on February 21 and 22, 2009 at the Toronto Congress Centre so please mark your calendars.  There are some awesome “special attractions” during the show including CTV’s Fairytale Dream Wedding Contest and the famous event/wedding planner Preston Bailey will be making a special presentation.  Mr. Bailey has worked with one of my absolute favourite celebs - Donald Trump!

Yesterday evening I was driving to Toronto for a PPO meeting for the lighting seminar featuring Montreal based photographer Michael Greenburg.  I was listening to the news on the way down and learned that our dollar was down to $0.77!  Ouch!  

Due to this horrendous exchange rate, I have reduced my Pictage print prices by approximately 25%.  As most of you know who currently have weddings/engagement sessions online with Pictage, all Pictage prices are in USD.  This 25% reduction will reflect the exchange rate more accurately.

If you are a US citizen, you just hit the jackpot!

If you are a Canadian citizen, remember, you do not have to pay PST or GST on any Pictage transactions!

Katie and Brady are IN LOVE!

In July ‘07 I received an email from Ms. Kate down under in Australia.  I learned that she and her fiance were getting married in Lion’s Head, Ontario!  I was intrigued that a couple from Australia were planning a wedding in Canada.  It turns out Brady grew up in Lion’s Head where the majority of his family still resides.  Katie is 100% Aussie - she and Brady met out west in Banff, Alberta.  Brady was instantly hooked (and you’ll see why) and overtime Katie moved back to Australia with Brady by her side.

1 year later, a couple of weeks before their wedding day, I finally got to meet this wonderful couple that are soooooo in love with each other!  We met in Lion’s Head to chat about their wedding day and do their engagement session.  This was my first photo shoot in the Northern Bruce Peninsula.  I had never photographed a wedding or engagement session further than Wiarton before this.  I LOVE Lion’s Head!  I must slide by here more often.  It is absolutely beautiful and is certainly a great place for a destination wedding.

Everyone knows everyone in Lion’s Head so we did the first few photos in someone’s backyard that wasn’t home at the time.

Yes, this is the backyard. Imagine a view like this EVERY day!

We hit the marina and lighthouse afterwards where the light was absolutely scrumptious.

Sheri and Geoff!

What can I say. It was an amazing day at Blue Mountain Resorts in Collingwood for Sheri and Geoff’s wedding.  All of us Ontarion’s know how it rained everyday for weeks and weeks and weeks on end this summer so I was tickled pink when it was warm and sunny for their big day on July 19.

Don’t you just LOVE Sheri’s bouquet - Peonies! So pretty.

The material of Sheri’s dress was extremely unique. It would keep any bride as cool as a cucumber on a hot day. I remember Sheri mentioning something about cutting it off just around the knee and using it as a cocktail dress for future festivities - fab idea!

We did all the family and bridal party photos before the ceremony. The ceremony service was held on a terrace just off the Silver Creek Room.

Sheri and Geoff had all these super cute shopping bags containing many goodies for all of their guests. I suspect Sheri and her mom were the masterminds behind this and Geoff’s name was just added for obvious reasons - LOL
