Alexis and Cam’s wedding reception was held at The Stone Tree Golf and Fitness Club in Owen Sound.

Someone turned 6.

Yummy dessert.

I love when couples are willing to go out after dinner for a few more photos……

A cameo appearance by Candace and Mark.

Congratulations to Alexis and Cam!
It was an extreme pleasure to be a part of Alexis and Cam’s wedding day on June 27 at Sauble Beach. I had met both of them last year at Melissa and Mathew’s wedding in Collingwood - Cam is the baby brother of Melissa and Alexis was Melissa’s Maid of Honour. Alexis and Cam were also guests at Candace and Mark’s wedding which took place in Zurich.
June 27 was one of the nicest Saturdays of the summer. It was pleasantly warm (and actually quite hot on the beach) and zero chance of rain.
Here is just a very small portion from their beautiful wedding day! (In case you missed them earlier, you may view Alexis and Cam’s engagement session photos here).

I started off the day at Cam’s parent’s house in Port Elgin.

Alexis and Cam’s dog Reed.

The “Grooms-People”. Melissa was on Cam’s side for the wedding party (and I just loved her new hair cut).

Alexis, a very sensible girl, wore very sensible shoes on her wedding day - comfort!

This was one of my favourite captured moments from the day. Alexis fighting back tears while her dad was standing at the bottom of the stairs (who cried practically all day long - hehehe).

The rings.

After the ceremony, we hit the good old beach!

This is my interpretation of “Sleeping Beauty”.

Loved this photo!

Massive bouquet.

Reception photos to follow soon!
Robyn and Curtis’ wedding was medieval themed. They spent alot of time and energy with the decorations, especially in the reception room and wanted this recorded as part of the day. So…..I went into the room before the guests came in for dinner and did what I do and then the unthinkable happened. I was standing beside the head table and leaned over it to get a long shot of one of the other tables and then all of a sudden I noticed my HAIR WAS ON FIRE!!! Evidently when I leaned over, my hair drooped right into a candle! A chunk of hair on the right side of my head was literally in flames - like, big time. I foofed it away and it disappeared thankfully. But, boy oh boy did the room ever reek of singed hair - it was quite awful. But by the time the guests came in the room, the aroma had drifted away (thank goodness).
That was actually just one of my few blunders that I had during the day - there were actually several more. Like how I almost fell into the river or how my turquoise pendant (that I got in the Dominican Republic) came off the necklace without any warning whatsoever and dropped right inbetween the cracks of the bridge and into the river. It didn’t even bounce onto the bridge and then into the crack - it just went right into the crack and into the water. I was really bummed about that because it was an awesome pendant that I wore often. Oh well. There will be more turquoise pendants.
Back to the wedding photos - here are some from R and C’s reception!

So these were the candles at the head table. Small but mighty! Beware of these if you use flammable products in your hair like I do.

The lovely cake by “MarJennys Cakes“.

The staff dressed as “Wenches”.

Poor guy.

I’m not much for ham (except with Eggs Benedict), but this was very tasty!!

And this Roasted Red Pepper Soup was fantastic!

Yes, the cake was cut with a sword.

Robyn and Curtis set up their own very clever and very unique candid photo booth. It was very impressive.

The archery contest was fun to watch.

Congratulations to Robyn and Curtis!!!
You saw their sneak peek, now here’s the real thing!
As previously mentioned, Robyn and Curtis are Canadians working abroad in China. They flew all the way from China to be married in Walter’s Falls at The Falls Inn on June 20, 2009. Despite some drizzle and rain, it still turned out to be a fabulous day!!
In case you haven’t already done so, be sure to read the article written about Robyn and Curtis and their wedding day by The Toronto Star.
I love so many photos from their wedding day, but I will only post a few.

Loved this photo of Robyn’s mom doing her make-up by the window.

The lovely front lobby of The Falls Inn.

If I could describe Curtis in one word, it would be “jolly”. (BTW, the groomsmen on the right uses conditioner for his hair. I can understand why).

If could describe him using two words, it would be “jolly” and “quirky”.

It was too wet outside for the ceremony, so it was held indoors.

We managed to get alot of photos done outside after the ceremony with Robyn and Curtis along with their wedding party. It eventually started to rain, but that was ok - we just finished the family photos inside.

The bridesmaid’s attire were made from raw silk from Thailand that was hand sewn by a seamstress in China. Amazing what can be done by email only!! They were so unique!

This engagement ring was custom designed. A Celtic style sapphire-and-diamond ring.
Pauline and Chris loved Katie and Pat’s wedding album so much that they decided to get the same one.
Pauline and Chris’ chocolate brown leather wedding album is the 14×11 size - it’s awesome!!

Too cute leather box.

3 little windows cut on the front cover for 3 little 3×3 photos.

I was dreadfully ill last week. I ended up in the hospital on Monday night as an overnight guest with a tube stuck in one of my veins to give me fluids due to dehydration from the extreme and constant diarrhea (like sometimes as much as every 5 to 10 minutes - I wish I was joking, but I’m not) and the one round of awful vomiting that I had. Painkillers were given to me through the tube as well - I had constant abdominal pain that just wasn’t going away - it hurt - alot. I was so dehydrated and so thirsty, but even one small sip of gatorade sent me to the bathroom. This went on for 3 full days. Since I was staying at my parent’s during the time, my mom got sick, then my dad got sick (he threw up 8 times while he was combining - why a farmer would keep combining after throwing up so many times is beyond me) and then the person that works for my dad got sick too.
It was an absolutely dreadful experience and I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy.
I’m glad I’m back to normal this week.
