Everyone loves chitchat, so here’s the dish on me!

The entrepreneur in me was revealed at a very young age. When I was 4 or 5, I set up my first lemonade stand at my Mom’s annual yard sale - $0.25 per glass. I’m not sure what the ROI was, but hey, it was a start.

As an entrepreneur, risks are involved. Prior to selling lemonade, I climbed up the TV tower on my parent’s three-storey farm house “free-style” when I was 3 years old – all the way to the top!

In kindergarten, I wanted to be a TV star or a model when I grew up. Well, I have the height and the hair! I continually stand amazed at what society and media considers “beautiful”. Part of the reason I love doing what I love to do is to prove to you that pretty/attractive/beautiful comes in a variety of shapes, sizes and ages.

Analysis is part of running a business. I have this down pat and enjoy analyzing situations. I have Nancy Drew to thank for this. I read over 100 of the popular mystery books in my elementary school days.

During high school, I almost veered off into the world of nutrition. I didn’t have the marks in science to do so. I continued on with my goal of becoming a photographer which first hit my heart at the age of 13.

In college, I said I would NEVER EVER photograph a wedding until……

Shortly after I graduated Fanshawe College for a 3 year (intense) study of photography, I obtained my first gig as a server in a restaurant. Although this job did not utilize my photography skills in any way, shape or form, it certainly did prepare me for weddings! Fast paced, hectic, crazy and very challenging people were a part of every shift and weddings soon became a breeze!

I photographed my first 2 weddings in 1999.

My portfolio images do have a bit of “fashion-edge” to them. Glitz and glam first appealed to me when “Jem” hit afterschool television and the toy shelves at Woolworth’s and Towers back in the ‘80s. (Jem was truly outrageous).

My role as a full-time web designer at Canada’s leading tour operator, Signature Vacations, set the scene for DESTINATION WEDDINGS! I photographed my first DW in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Last but not least, I love cats. I have one for everyday of the week.
