Ashley and Jason’s engagement session was my grand finale e-session for 2009. We got together at Blue Mountain in Collingwood the first week in November.  The light in November is absolutely scrumptious, but unless you are a photographer you most likely wouldn’t be able to understand why I would get excited about shooting in November light.  If it wasn’t for the unpredictable weather, I think November would be one of the best months for a wedding (photo wise).

Ashley and Jason first met at Swiss Chalet a few years ago.  Through some mild interrogation, I found out that Jason essentially got the job at Swiss Chalet because Ashley essentially said “let’s hire him!”.  Cute!

Ashley wants at least 4 kids - Jason wants to cap it at 3.  I will be curious in a few years to find out what the verdict was : )

Meet…..Ashley and Jason!

Life size checker game at The Village at Blue Mountain.

After we finished at Blue Mountain, we headed off to Sunset Point Park which is on the other side of Collingwood. But during the drive there, I saw how awesome this apple orchard looked and thought I would regret it if I didn’t pull over, so I did. And glad I did.

Totally digging these awesome fall colours and low light.

So once we concluded our apple orchard episode, we finished the session at Sunset Point Park - another awesome location.

I look forward to shooting Ashley and Jason’ wedding this summer!

I got together with Brittany and Geoff in Barrie for our engagement session together on October 5. It rained practically all the way there during my drive over, but stopped shortly before our session began. October is such an unpredictable month for weather, but as you will see there were some lovely fall colours in their e-session images.

I have the privilege of photographing B & G’s wedding next summer at Tangle Creek Golf Club in Barrie!

Geoff has a sense of humour.

Loved this one.

I think Brittany looks like 1/2 porcelain doll, 1/2 rockstar.

Geoff just looks 100% rockstar.

Lacey (which rhymes with Stacey) is Brittany and Geoff’s daughter.

Brittany suggested some photos in the basement which I thought was a great idea. So here are the results a la “Blair Witch” style.  I thought these were super cool!

On September 3 (a really nice and sunny day), I travelled to Toronto to meet with Sabrina and Andre for their engagement session.  We met downtown, right at the base of the CN Tower which is where S & A had their first date.  I forgot how BUSY downtown Toronto is and to be honest, I don’t miss working there as I once did.  As much as I love visiting Toronto, I wouldn’t be overly thrilled about living in the heart of T.O. ever again.

I met Sabrina and Andre at Canada’s Wedding Expo.  Later at our first meeting together, I found out how they met - at a……..TAX OFFICE! Hehehe. I thought it was a really cute story. Imagine dropping off your income tax return and meeting the love of your life.  It can definitely happen at anytime, anywhere.  So this certainly brings a whole new meaning to T4 Slips.

Some images from our session together!

Andre spotted this on the sidewalk. Good eye.

The all natural lighting here was absolutely amazing!  No reflectors, no flash - all au natural.

I love finding and taking advantage of natural light.

This is not natural light (obviously).

We hit Lakeshore West after downtown.

So there is the CN tower in the background.

Check out the fun photos from Jami and Ryan’s engagement session that we did in July in the super lovely town of Southampton.

Britney Spears look-a-like.

If you missed Jami and Ryan’s Winter Wonderland Portrait Session that we did back in January, you may view that here:
