Ashley and Jason were united together as husband and wife on July 10, another lovely summer day. They were married at St. Gertrudes Roman Catholic Church in Oshawa.

Check out their engagement session photos we did last November in Collingwood:

A & J kept things nice and simple (yet elegant) for their special day - I loved their backyard bbq reception - some really scrumptious food was partaken during the evening which you’ll see below.

This was Ashley’s “something blue” - the beads on the bottom of her shoes - “I” and “Do”.  Cute and creative.

Really nice and meaningful stain-glass at the Church.

We did all the post-ceremony photos at Cullen Gardens in Whitby.

Meet my competition ; )

Ashley and Jason requested ample detail photos to use as art in their home (particularly from their reception) - I was pretty excited about this because I’ll never say no to more detail photos. I love them!

If you are getting married and can’t decide between a veil or hair piece, do what Ashley did and get both!  You can change into the other just before the reception for a different look.  Ashley’s feathered hair piece was awesome.

Congratulations to Ashley and Jason (who enjoyed a honeymoon in the Dominican Republic)!

Well it’s that time of year when my computer decides to protest against me and decides not to start one morning. It seems to do this every year. It’s back from being serviced and thankfully running much much nicer now.

Carolyn and Nathan took a break from the oil in Alberta and flew to Ontario to be married at Blue Mountain Resorts in Collingwood on July 3. That was a really HOT day, but anything is better than rain (or snow).

The ceremony was at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Waiting for his bride to arrive.

Their reception room was totally WOW! Beautifully decorated to say the least.

Candy Buffets have become increasingly popular over the past couple of years.

Carolyn and Nathan’s cupcakes had sparkles in them. Pretty.

The Signature Drink of the evening.

Congratulations to Carolyn and Nathan! (who enjoyed a honeymoon in Greece!).

June 26th was one of those days with soaking wet gray clouds lingering in the sky that looked like if you poked them with a needle they would just gush out buckets and buckets of rain. Miraculously enough, that didn’t happen - it was actually hard to believe.

Jillian and Mike were married at the Georgian Bay Club - it was a wonderful day for the two of them along with many of their family and friends.  Here is an overview of their wedding story.

Mike and his boys got ready at The Village at Blue Mountain so I stopped there first for photos.

Jillian and the girls got ready at her parent’s cottage.

Loved this photo of Jillian’s mom helping her with her dress and her dad watching.

Bridesmaid in a mirror.

Finishing touches.

Voila - Jillian.

This is Jillian’s fraternal twin Leah (P.S. I’m going to be an aunt of twins in November/December!). When Leah answered the door I thought to myself “Oh, Jillian is wearing an orange dress - that’s different”. But then I quickly found out it wasn’t Jillian - hehehe.

Everyone.

Funky hor d’ourves.

Jillian’s younger brother was actually a bridesman (or groomsmaid).

By the way, I totally loved Jillian’s dress with the one shoulder only strap (as did many other people).  It was so suited for her.

Twin love.

Fireworks were a surprise later in the evening.

Congratulation to Jillian and Mike!

Jennifer and Tom were married on May 29 at Golden Beach Resort which is located on Rice Lake just outside of Roseneath.  This was not the original location for their wedding though.  Less than 3 months from their wedding day, they found out their wedding venue closed their doors and were no longer in business!  Imagine looking for a new wedding location so close to your wedding date - stress.  Jen and Tom, however, found out about Golden Beach Resort and when they visited in person, they were absolutely thrilled!  PHEW!  So…it all worked out for the better in the end.

Golden Beach Resort is on the south side of Rice Lake.  If you look straight across the lake, you see Peterborough.  I arrived the evening before the wedding.  Remind me not to travel on the 401 eastbound on a Friday afternoon again - yikes.  It took me over 5 hours to get there - the 401 was slower than molasses in January.  It took me just under 3 hours to come home on Saturday night so I essentially sat on the 401 for 2 hours on the way there.  It was hot and aggravating - but that’s life.  When I arrived, I had a great night’s sleep in one of the beautiful resort homes - I was extremely thankful Jen and Tom were able to put me there for the night.

This is the sunset before the wedding day.

The wedding day begins.

Jen & Tom’s dog Lucy was carrying the rings on her back. This was the first time I had ever seen a dog wear a wedding veil : )

Jen’s grandfather walked her down the aisle.

I love dove releases.

Tom wrote Jen a (very special) song and sang it to her a cappella. You’ve really got to give a guy credit for doing that, especially in front of so many people.

Congratulations to Jen and Tom!

October 24, 2009 was one of those “iffy” weather days.  Melanie and Michael were married in Melanie’s hometown - Kincardine.  It was looking/calling for rain, but the rain didn’t start until just around sunset which was great news because we could do most photos outside.

Melanie and Michael opted for a very small celebration of under 20 people which is a different change of pace from my perspective.  Here is a snippet from their 3 hour coverage:

Of course you have to have pumpkins for a late fall wedding!

I’m a huge fan of furry shawls for weddings.

Church Of The Messiah.

Michael is a firefighter in Windsor so we stopped by the firehall for a few photos. Fun!

At dusk, just before dinner was set to begin, we stopped by the beach for one last photo.

The reception was at the Harbour Street Brasserie. This is a REALLY NICE place!!!

Congratulations Melanie and Michael!!

Julie and Darren were originally supposed to have their ceremony at the top of Blue Mountain, but because of rain, plans were changed. We decided after the family and wedding party photos were complete to make the trek part way up the ski hill. It was soooooooo tiring! Well, for me anyways, but not for Julie and Darren. Since they are both in great shape, they have inspired me to get back into shape myself and shed a few pounds. To be completely honest, it was absolutely pathetic how much I was huffing and puffing when we were going up the hill, so on a diet I go!

It was totally worth the hike up the hill….check these out!

This part wasn’t that hard, but it wasn’t until…..

…….we went further up the hill. Soooooo tiring -LOL.

Look at Julie go - in heels too!

LOVE this view!! But see how far we walked?  We started at the bottom on that little dirt path and ended up here.  Totally worth it!  So Julie and Darren are both part of a running club which is why they weren’t huffing and puffing.  It’s easy for banker like Darren to make time for a running club though - we all know about “banker hours” - talk about a cushy career!  LOL.  Just kidding! : )

Groovy fall colours!

These were taken in the heart of The Village.

Muddy shoes.

Their Guest Signing Book.

Loved the apple theme decor!

Congratulations to Julie and Darren!!

Julie and Darren - High School Sweethearts!

J & D tied the knot at Blue Mountain Resorts in Collingwood on Saturday October 3, 2009.  Blue Mountain is a fabulous location for any blissful and joyful event such as a wedding.

A large black cloud formed over Blue Mountain just minutes before the ceremony was about to begin so the ceremony had to be held indoors.  Thankfully the rain stopped not too long after the receiving line so we could do all the photos outdoors.  The Village at Blue is just too fab to not do photos in.

Here is Part 1 of 2 of Julie and Darren’s wedding day!

THE shoes. A very important element of the wedding day.

Nothing like writing your speech until the last minute. LOL. Just kidding Julie!

Getting Ready Funnies.

Here’s that big black cloud I mentioned. Yikes!

A cameo appearance by Deanna and “Scottie the Hottie” (who are now parents!).

Part 2 coming soon!
