Rebecca & David’s Wedding :: Flesherton, ON
posted November 12th, 2009 by Stacey

So it’s a very rare occasion that I have the opportunity of photographing a wedding in my home town of Flesherton, Ontario. On July 11, 2009 (one of the most requested dates of the summer!) I had the extreme privilege of photographing a wedding for one of my childhood friends - Miss Rebecca.

THIS is Rebecca. We have known each other since Kindergarten. That was a loooooooong time ago! When we graduated high school, Rebecca went off to the University of Toronto which is where she met Mr. David. After 13 years, they finally said “I Do”.

Hehehehe. I thought I’d give a little flash back from the past. This is our Grade 4 photo. The year here was 1986. Funny, I am shooting some weddings in 2010 for couples that weren’t even born yet in 1986! Ha ha! So anywho, we went to MacPhail Memorial Elementary School in Flesherton.  As you can see Rebecca is right in the center.  Erin was Rebecca’s Matron of Honour - they have been best friends since kindergarten.  And Sherri was one of Rebecca’s bridemaids too.  With exception to Sherri, I actually photographed everyone’s wedding with a green arrow pointing to them.  I actually didn’t realize that until I started looking at everyone.

Erin and Ted - October 13, 2007

Meghan and David - August 14, 1999

John and Robyn - January 13, 2007

Jarrett and Mandi - July 16, 2005

Suzie and Wally(?) - 2000(?)

In case you are wondering which person I am in the photo, if you have met me in person, I will be easy to identify.  If not, it would be hard to tell by guessing from the photo of me on my blog.

Lets’ start at the beginning of Rebecca and David’s big day - getting ready.

Loved this one.

David is a high school math teacher, just like Rebecca’s father was! “They say” you end up marrying someone just like your father….

Ceremony was at St. John’s United in Flesherton.

This is the part where it started to rain. But I love the umbrellas and that awesome blue sky!

We decided to switch locations while it was raining here and ended up……

…..at the Hickling House in Flesherton (which is For Sale by the way, in case anyone is interested. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL inside!!!).

Cuteness.  Look at those smiles.

The reception was held at the Osprey Community Centre which is in Feversham. After speeches, we went outside for a few more photos at dusk…..the lighting was awesome.

I think this was my absolute favourite!!

Congratulations to Rebecca and David!
